Opening in early 2026, Base71 Youth Zone is an ambitious new £10 million facility designed to transform the lives of young people in Barnsley. Open seven days a week, it will offer a wide range of high-quality, inspiring activities in a safe, welcoming, and purpose-built environment.

Do you love sport and want to inspire the next generation? We’re looking for Sessional Youth Workers – Multi-Sports to join the team at Base71 Youth Zone, opening in 2026.
From football and basketball to athletics, dodgeball, and fun taster sessions, you’ll deliver exciting sports activities that encourage teamwork, fitness, and confidence. Whether coaching skills, running competitions, or helping young people try something new, you’ll make a real difference every session.
What you’ll do:
Deliver safe, inclusive, and engaging multi-sports sessions.
Run taster sessions, competitions, and challenges to build skills and confidence.
Motivate and support young people to stay active and try new sports.
Build positive relationships and ensure everyone feels included.
What you’ll bring:
Experience delivering a range of sports or fitness sessions (essential).
Energy, enthusiasm, and the ability to inspire young people.
Confidence in coaching, encouraging, and motivating different abilities.
Experience working with young people aged 8–19 (or up to 25 with SEND).
Knowledge of safeguarding and inclusion (training provided).
