Opening in early 2026, Base71 Youth Zone is an ambitious new £10 million facility designed to transform the lives of young people in Barnsley. Open seven days a week, it will offer a wide range of high-quality, inspiring activities in a safe, welcoming, and purpose-built environment.
Base71 is part of the national OnSide network, which empowers young people across the UK through world-class youth work and inclusive opportunities.
We are looking for individuals to join our team from October 2025 to prepare for our grand opening in 2026.
Do you love dance, drama, or performing arts and want to inspire young people? We’re looking for Sessional Youth Workers – Performing Arts to join our creative team at Base71 Youth Zone, opening in 2026.
You’ll deliver exciting and inclusive sessions that help young people build confidence, develop skills, and express themselves. From dance workshops to drama performances, you’ll create opportunities for young people to shine, learn, and have fun.
What you’ll do:
Lead fun, engaging, and safe performing arts sessions (dance, drama, or both).
Support young people to explore creativity and develop their skills.
Encourage participation and help young people work towards events and performances.
Build positive relationships and champion inclusion across all sessions.
What you’ll bring:
Experience delivering performing arts sessions (essential).
A qualification in dance and/or performing arts (essential).
Creativity, energy, and a passion for engaging young people.
Experience working with young people aged 8–19 (or up to 25 with SEND).
Ability to inspire, motivate, and create a positive, inclusive environment.
