Crynodeb

Opening in early 2026, Base71 Youth Zone is an ambitious new £10 million facility designed to transform the lives of young people in Barnsley. Open seven days a week, it will offer a wide range of high-quality, inspiring activities in a safe, welcoming, and purpose-built environment.

Base71 is part of the national OnSide network, which empowers young people across the UK through world-class youth work and inclusive opportunities.
Are you creative, energetic, and passionate about inspiring young people? We’re looking for Sessional Youth Workers – Arts & Crafts to join the team at Base71 Youth Zone, opening in 2026.

From painting and sculpture to collage, textiles, and crafts, you’ll deliver fun and inclusive sessions that encourage young people to explore their creativity, learn new skills, and grow in confidence. Whether it’s a one-off project or part of our ongoing arts programme, your sessions will provide a safe, engaging space for young people to express themselves.

What you’ll do:
Deliver exciting, hands-on arts and crafts activities for young people aged 8–19 (or up to 25 with SEND).
Plan and run creative sessions that are fun, inclusive, and developmental.
Motivate and support young people to try new art forms and express their ideas.
Build positive relationships and create a welcoming, inclusive space.
Promote young people’s voices, ensuring their ideas help shape the arts programme.

What you’ll bring:
Experience delivering arts and crafts sessions with young people (essential).
A relevant art qualification and the creativity to plan engaging sessions.
Experience working with young people from diverse backgrounds (including SEND).
Energy, enthusiasm, and a passion for inspiring creativity.
Knowledge of safeguarding, health & safety, and equality (training provided).
