Weekly Rate: £455-£480
Start Date: 01/09/2025
Hours: Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)
Contract: Long Term to Permanent
We're recruiting for a SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Rugby (CV22). This full-time role involves providing 1:1 support for a Year 4 pupil with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), who is currently working on an individualised curriculum at EYFS level.
You'll be supporting the child's sensory, communication, and academic needs through tailored, structured support. A calm, nurturing, and consistent approach is key, along with experience supporting children with significant needs.
The Role:
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 4 pupil with ASD
- Follow an individualised EYFS-level curriculum
- Support communication using strategies such as PECS or visual timetables
- Create a structured learning environment
- Encourage progress in engagement, independence, and emotional regulation
- Collaborate with class teacher, SENCO, and external specialists
- Monitor and respond to sensory needs or signs of distress
The Ideal Candidate:
- Level 2/3 TA qualification (or equivalent)
- Experience supporting pupils with autism or working at early developmental levels
- Familiarity with EYFS approaches and sensory regulation
- Calm, patient, and reliable with a proactive mindset
- Comfortable delivering individualised learning and interventions
- Committed to consistency, structure, and pupil wellbeing
