Long Term Futures is working in partnership with a friendly and inclusive primary school in Rugby (CV21) to recruit a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team in September. This full-time role will focus on 1:1 support for a nursery-aged child with complex needs and could lead to a permanent position for the right candidate.
The Role:
You'll be supporting a child in the EYFS setting with a dual diagnosis of Down's Syndrome and ASD, who also experiences communication difficulties. Your responsibilities will include:

Providing consistent 1:1 support to help the child access learning through play and daily routine

Supporting social interaction and communication using visual aids, Makaton, and sensory strategies

Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver a structured and nurturing approach

Creating a calm, inclusive classroom environment tailored to the child's needs

Delivering short, focused activities in line with the child's EHCP outcomes

What We're Looking For:

Experience supporting children with SEN, particularly ASD, Down's Syndrome, or speech and language needs

A relevant qualification such as CACHE Level 2/3, TA Certificate or related education/childcare degree
