Housing Sustenance Officer
Salary: £25,000 per year, pro rata

Job Details:
We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Housing Sustenance Officer to provide housing management services to our vulnerable tenants across Medway. You will be mobile working with an office base in Chatham. You will be a hard-working individual who works well under pressure.
You will be required to manage and allocate responsibilities and reports to your line manager.
The main responsibilities for the role will be:
You will be responsible for all housing management functions including sign-ups, carrying out health and safety checks, ensuring maintenance or repair work has been carried out, making sure the service users engage with their daily license and does not get engaged with incidents of anti-social behaviour and helping service users with budgeting challenges- making sure service users are able to budget in order of priority.
You will carry out housing management activities such as rent collection, tenancy enforcement, reporting maintenance issues, and undertaking health and safety checks, ensuring a firm but empathetic approach is taken to support clients to maintain their tenancies.
About you:
You must have six months’ experience of working with a number of client groups including: homeless people/families, people with mental health problems, or people with learning disabilities,experience of supported housing would also be an advantage.
You will be able to assess risk, and to empower clients to take informed and appropriate risks while reducing any which could limit their independence. An understanding of safeguarding issues and a commitment to protect all adults.
You must be a professional and confident communicator able to communicate effectively in person, by phone, or in writing with a wide range of people.
You will have excellent communication and report writing skills, with a proven background of working with basic IT and housing systems. Occasional out of hours working may be required to meet the needs of our tenants.
Must be willing to use own car for work duties, so should have a clean driving licence. Must be willing to work with vulnerable adults and the ability to work with other members of the team.

DBS clearance will also be required.
The successful candidate for the role should have:
* Full UK Driving Licence and access to own transport due to the location of the patch
* Experience of Housing Management is an advantage but not essential, such as Rent Collection as you will be the main point of contact for residents and must be able to deal with any housing related queries.
