What skills and experience we're looking for
The Governors of Morecambe Bay Community Primary School are looking to recruit an experienced SEND classteacher to join our dedicated staff team. This full-time, permanent position begins in September 2026 and will be based within ‘The Cove’ a SEND unit within our school.
Established in September 2022, 'The Cove' is a valued part of our school community, catering to up to 8 children with SLCN/ASD. A high staff-to-pupil ratio allows for specialist teaching and an adapted curriculum.
We are looking for an experienced teacher with specialised knowledge of effective teaching strategies for children with SEND. The role involves planning and delivering an adapted curriculum, 1:1 and small group interventions, and strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with teaching assistants to maintain structure, continuity, behaviour management, and high-quality care for pupils. The successful applicant will partner closely with the SENCO to deliver the highest standards of support and provision for pupils. This post is not suitable for early career teachers.
