Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Coroners Officer WCR 3 BASE to join our team in investigating deaths and assisting in the administration of the coroner's office. This critical role requires an individual who possesses a deep understanding of legal and procedural frameworks governing death investigations, as well as the ability to engage compassionately with bereaved families. As a Coroners Officer, you will be at the forefront of helping to establish the circumstances surrounding deaths, all while maintaining the highest levels of professionalism and sensitivity during what is often a traumatic time for families. You will work closely with a team of forensic experts, law enforcement agencies, and medical professionals to gather essential information and prepare reports that guide legal proceedings. Responsibilities
Conduct thorough investigations into deaths reported to the coroner's office.
Gather and analyze evidence related to cases, ensuring compliance with legal standards.
Prepare detailed reports and documentation for review by the coroner and relevant authorities.
Coordinate with law enforcement, medical professionals, and families to gather necessary information.
Assist in post-mortem examinations and ensure proper handling of deceased individuals.
Attend inquest hearings and provide evidence or testimony as required.
Maintain accurate records and databases related to death investigations and case inventory.
Requirements
A degree in forensic science, criminology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Strong understanding of legal and procedural aspects of death investigations.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for interacting with diverse stakeholders.
Ability to maintain composure and professionalism in sensitive situations.
Proficiency in computer applications and data management systems.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail to ensure accurate reporting and documentation.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Pay Per Hour: £22.86
