Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Nursery Manager to lead our Speke nursery. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the setting, ensuring outstanding childcare, strong team leadership, regulatory compliance, and a positive experience for children, families, and staff.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
• Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing nursery team
• Foster a positive, professional, and inclusive working culture
• Manage staff performance, supervision, appraisals, and development
Operational Management
• Oversee the daily running of the nursery, ensuring smooth operations
• Manage staffing ratios, rotas, and occupancy levels
• Ensure effective administrative and operational systems are in place
Quality, Compliance & Safeguarding
• Ensure full compliance with EYFS, Ofsted, safeguarding, and health & safety requirements
• Maintain high standards of care, learning, and development across the nursery
• Lead and prepare the setting for Ofsted inspections
Parent & Community Engagement
• Build strong, trusting relationships with parents and carers
• Handle parent enquiries, feedback, and concerns professionally
• Represent Rainbow Tots positively within the local community
Business & Financial Awareness
• Support budget management and cost control
• Maximise occupancy and contribute to the nursery’s financial sustainability
Essential Qualifications & Experience
• Level 3 childcare qualification (minimum)
• Significant experience in an early years setting
• Proven experience in a leadership or management role
• Strong working knowledge of the EYFS framework and safeguarding procedures
Desirable
• Level 5 or above in Early Years Leadership or Management
• Experience managing Ofsted inspections
• Understanding of nursery business operations and occupancy management
• Paediatric 12hr First Aid certificate
