Role Overview

We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic, and motivated Nursery Practitioner to join our team. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality care and early education, support children’s learning and development, and contribute to a positive, inclusive, and engaging nursery environment.



This role is ideal for someone passionate about early years who thrives in a hands-on, child-centred setting.



Key Responsibilities

Childcare & Education

Provide high-quality care, learning, and development opportunities for all children

Plan, deliver, and evaluate engaging activities in line with the EYFS

Support children’s individual needs, interests, and next steps

Maintain accurate observations, assessments, and learning records

Safeguarding & Compliance

Follow all safeguarding, child protection, and health & safety procedures

Ensure the environment is safe, clean, and well-organised

Adhere to nursery policies, Ofsted requirements, and EYFS standards

Report concerns promptly to the Designated Safeguarding Lead

Teamwork & Collaboration

Work effectively with colleagues to create a positive, supportive team culture

Communicate clearly with Room Leaders and the Nursery Manager

Contribute to planning meetings, room organisation, and daily routines

Support new staff, students, and apprentices where required

Parent & Carer Engagement

Build warm, professional relationships with parents and carers

Share daily updates, progress, and key information sensitively and clearly

Support a welcoming, inclusive environment for all families

Environment & Resources

Help maintain a stimulating, well-resourced learning environment

Set up and tidy away activities, ensuring rooms are inviting and purposeful

Contribute ideas for continuous improvement and curriculum enhancements



Essential Qualifications & Experience

Level 2 or Level 3 childcare qualification (minimum Level 3 preferred)

Experience working in an early years setting

Good understanding of the EYFS framework

Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures



Desirable

Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification

Paediatric 12hr First Aid certificate

Experience completing observations and assessments

Understanding of Ofsted expectations and early years best practice
