Talent Education is currently seeking SEN Classroom Support Assistants to work on a flexible supply basis in schools across Rochdale. We are looking for caring, adaptable, and enthusiastic individuals who are passionate about supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
This role offers excellent flexibility for those looking for day-to-day supply, longer-term placements, or potential temp-to-perm opportunities within supportive and inclusive school settings.
As an SEN Classroom Support Assistant, you will work alongside teachers and school support staff to help pupils with additional needs engage with learning both in and outside the classroom.
Depending on the needs of the school, your responsibilities may include 1:1 support, small group interventions, or general classroom assistance.
• Support pupils with Special Educational Needs, including Autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, and SEMH needs
• Provide 1:1 and small group support tailored to individual learning needs
• Assist the class teacher with lesson delivery and classroom organisation
• Encourage pupils to stay engaged, confident, and motivated in their learning
• Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation
• Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
• Experience working with children or young people with SEN (school or care experience desirable)
• A patient, empathetic, and supportive approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to adapt to different school environments and classroom settings
• Commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
• Relevant qualifications are beneficial but not essential
