We are currently recruiting for a dedicated Inclusive Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in Bury for the summer term.
This full-time position involves supporting primary-aged pupils with Special Educational Needs, including Autism and additional learning needs. You will work closely with the class teacher and the wider SEN support team to ensure pupils feel supported, confident, and able to access the curriculum in a positive learning environment.
As an Inclusive Learning Support Assistant, you will:
• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with additional learning needs
• Support pupils with Autism and communication challenges to engage with lessons and activities
• Help pupils develop positive behaviour strategies and emotional regulation skills
• Assist in maintaining a structured, calm, and inclusive classroom environment
• Work collaboratively with teachers, the SENCO, and support staff to deliver personalised support strategies
Your role will focus on helping pupils overcome barriers to learning and build the confidence needed to thrive in school.
• Experience supporting primary-aged children with SEN, particularly Autism
• Confidence supporting pupils who may display challenging behaviour
• Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
• A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
• A supportive and welcoming school team
• Established SEN support structures and routines
• The opportunity to make a meaningful difference in pupils' learning and wellbeing
• A rewarding full-time position from Easter through to July
