A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Oldham is seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Learning Support Assistant to work across Key Stages 1 and 2.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and making a genuine difference within a nurturing and forward-thinking school environment.
As an SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support tailored to individual learning needs
- Support pupils with speech, language, and communication needs, including non-verbal learners
- Assist children with Autism (ASC), sensory processing differences, and social communication challenges
- Use calm and consistent approaches to manage behaviour linked to SEMH needs
- Work collaboratively with teachers and the SENCO to adapt learning activities
- Encourage independence, confidence, and positive classroom engagement
- Monitor progress and provide feedback to support ongoing development
You will be a key part of helping pupils overcome barriers and access learning successfully.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience supporting SEN pupils in a school setting (essential)
- Demonstrates strong understanding of autism and behaviour support strategies
- Is patient, empathetic, and able to build strong rapport
- Is resilient, proactive, and adaptable
- Feels confident working across both KS1 and KS2
- Temporary and temp-to-perm pathways available
- Flexible assignments where required
