Full-Time | Temporary & Temp-to-Perm Options
£90-£110 per day (depending on experience)

A community-focused primary school in Oldham is looking to welcome a SEN Support Assistant into their team. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working closely with children and wants to play a hands-on role in helping pupils with additional needs feel confident, included, and supported.

Working across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, you'll support pupils who need extra guidance to access learning and develop both academically and socially.

No two days will look the same, but your role will include:

• Working closely with pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
• Supporting children with communication needs, including those who are non-verbal
• Helping pupils with Autism, sensory needs, and social interaction difficulties
• Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional regulation through consistent support
• Assisting the class teacher with adapting activities to suit individual learners
• Helping pupils build confidence, independence, and engagement in lessons
• Observing progress and sharing insights with the teaching team

You'll be a key adult in the classroom - someone pupils can rely on for support, encouragement, and consistency.

This role would suit someone who:

• Has experience supporting children with additional needs in a school setting
• Understands the importance of routine, patience, and clear communication
• Can build trusting relationships with pupils and staff
• Is calm under pressure and able to adapt to different situations
• Is proactive and willing to get involved across the classroom
• Feels confident supporting across both KS1 and KS2

• Opportunities for both short-term and long-term roles
• A pathway into a permanent position for the right candidate
• A welcoming school with a strong team ethos
• Access to training and development opportunities
• A role where your contribution has a real, visible impact every day

This school is committed to keeping children safe. All applicants will be required to:

• Complete an Enhanced DBS check
• Provide references covering recent employment
• Demonstrate a clear understanding of safeguarding and child protection
