Contract Type: Full-time, Term-time
Salary: £105.00 - £140.00 per day (depending on experience)
Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm

About the school:

We are currently partnering with a welcoming and inclusive SEND primary school in Bury that is seeking a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with a variety of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), profound and multiple learning difficulties, and complex communication needs.

This full-time position involves working with children across Key Stage 1 (ages 5-7) and Key Stage 2 (ages 7-11), supporting their academic progress as well as their social and emotional development. You will play an important role in creating positive, trusting relationships with pupils, delivering both one-to-one and small group support, and helping to maintain a supportive environment where every child is encouraged to achieve their potential.

Strong communication skills, patience, and the ability to engage creatively with children are essential, as your work will make a meaningful impact on their learning and personal development.

About the role as a Primary SEN Teaching Assistant:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with EHCPs and additional needs
- Assist the class teacher with lesson delivery, behaviour support, and tailored interventions
- Promote emotional regulation, independence, and positive routines throughout the school day
- Contribute to progress tracking and communicate regularly with the wider support team

What We're Looking For from a Primary SEN Teaching Assistant:
- Experience supporting children with SEND (in a school or care setting)
- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage effectively
- A calm, compassionate, and proactive approach
- Strong understanding of Autism and SEND
- A relevant TA qualification

To be eligible you must:
- Hold Right to Work in the UK
- Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service OR be willing to process a new application
- Provide two professional child related references
