Our client is launching a major transformation of their Waste and Recycling Collection Service in October 2026, and they are building a brand-new engagement team to make it happen.
As an Engagement Officer, you'll be the face of this change working with residents, businesses, and community groups to build understanding, encourage participation, and help create a cleaner, greener South Holland.
You will creatematerials to publicise and promote the council's waste and recycling services, which willinclude updating council web pages and delivering presentations to schools, local community groups, and other audiences.
You'll thrive if you:
- Enjoy connecting with people and building positive relationships.
- Can adapt to different situations and work independently and as part of a team.
- Are ready to take initiative and find solutions.
What are they looking for?
- Confidence speaking with a wide range of people, both one to one and in larger group settings.
- Comfortable delivering presentations, workshops, or public engagement sessions.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain information clearly and engagingly.
- A flexible approach to working hours (including occasional evenings/weekends).
- A full driving licence and ability to travel across the district.
No waste experience? No problem! If you have transferable skills and a passion for making a difference, they will provide full training.
