About the Company:
Singapore’s leading referral veterinary hospital is seeking a dedicated Exotic Animal Veterinary Nurse to join their expert team. Renowned for its state-of-the-art diagnostic and therapeutic technology, the hospital offers specialised care in small animal surgery, internal medicine, neurology, exotic companion mammals, and cardiology. The 24/7 Emergency & Critical Care (ECC) department is fully equipped and staffed to handle any pet health emergencies. Beyond medical and surgical services, the hospital also provides certified hydrotherapy and rehabilitation programs, improving the quality of life for pets and their human companions.
About the Role:
This role focuses on providing exceptional care for exotic animals in the ward, assisting veterinarians with treatments, procedures, and surgeries, and monitoring critical patients. The ideal candidate will be passionate about working with exotic animals, eager to develop their skills, and committed to delivering the highest standards of care.
Key Responsibilities:
• Monitor critical patients in the exotics ward.
• Assist veterinarians in the care, treatment, and procedures of inpatients.
• Administer anaesthesia under veterinary supervision and support anaesthesia monitoring and recovery.
• Assist with triage, new case admissions, and diagnostic tasks such as blood draws, IV placements, and radiographs.
• Restrain patients safely for examinations and treatments.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the ward, including cages, brooders, laundry, and food bowls.
• Feed patients and ensure proper post-operative care, bandaging, and preparation for surgeries.
• Update medical records and communicate effectively with clients.
• Engage in self-learning through in-patient rounds, professional development lectures, and reading veterinary journals.
• Foster a positive, respectful, and collaborative team culture.
Working Hours:
• Day shifts: 8am–8pm or 9am–9pm
• 4-day work week, including weekends and Public Holidays
Desired Skills & Experience:
• Diploma in Veterinary Technology or relevant nursing qualification.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in the veterinary industry.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively under pressure.
