Location: Singapore
Salary: £34,000–£49,000 DOE
Working Hours: 4-day week, 7am–7pm or 9am–9pm (including weekends and public holidays)

About the Role
The Senior Veterinary Nurse plays a vital role within the specialist surgical team, providing advanced nursing support to the surgeon during procedures and consultations. This position oversees anaesthesia and patient recovery, ensures surgical equipment is prepared and sterilised to the highest standards, and delivers exceptional hands-on patient care.
This is a dynamic role that also involves assisting with diagnostics, maintaining clinical areas, supporting hospital operations, mentoring junior staff, and communicating clearly and compassionately with clients. The Senior Veterinary Nurse will be an integral part of the wards team and is encouraged to remain engaged in ongoing professional development.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist the specialist surgeon during surgeries and consultations
• Monitor anaesthesia and manage recovery for all surgical cases
• Prepare, sterilise, and maintain surgical instruments and equipment
• Deliver high-quality patient care, including taking radiographs, restraining patients for exams, and administering food to in-house patients
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of cages, clinical areas, treatment rooms, prep and surgery suites
• Aid in the care of resident patients and ensure clinic facilities remain in excellent condition
• Train, support, and mentor junior veterinary technicians
• Communicate with clients regarding patient progress and updates
• Assist with patient admissions and discharges
• Support ward activities during quieter periods
• Participate in inpatient rounds and pursue self-directed learning, including CPD, reading, and skill development
Desired Skills & Experience
• A diploma in veterinary technology or veterinary nursing
• Experience in a GP veterinary clinic or hospital is highly advantageous
• Strong anaesthesia, surgical nursing, and patient-handling skills
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and organisational abilities
• Compassion, resilience, and a commitment to gold-standard patient care
