Contract: Long-Term, Temp to Perm
Are you passionate about helping young learners thrive? A welcoming primary school in Sutton Coldfield (B73) is looking for a dedicated KS1 Teaching Assistant to support pupils across Year 1 and Year 2 with catch-up interventions and additional needs.
This is a full-time, long-term role starting January 2026, perfect for someone who loves working closely with children to build their confidence, close learning gaps, and make a real difference. For the right candidate there is an opportunity for this position to be made permanent.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver small group and 1:1 interventions in phonics, reading, and early maths
- Support pupils with mild to moderate additional needs
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to adapt resources and strategies
- Encourage independence, engagement, and progress across the KS1 curriculum
- Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to staff
About You:
- A Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent in a relevant qualification
- Experience supporting pupils in a primary setting (KS1 preferred)
- Confident delivering academic interventions and using phonics strategies (e.g. , Read Write Inc)
- Calm, nurturing, and proactive approach
- Understanding of additional needs such as speech & language, processing, or attention difficulties
- A team player who is reliable and committed to long-term support
