Hays Recruitment is proud to be supporting a well-established Northwich-based SEND school with a full EYFS - KS4 cohort that is at the heart of its local community as they are looking to appoint an experienced and reliable teaching assistant for a full-time temporary contract, starting in January and continuing for the remainder of the academic year. Within this role you will be supporting a year 5 pupil that has recently joined the school with a dual diagnosis of ASD and GLD, as well as being selective verbal. They have struggled to integrate into a new school site, so you will be their main point of contact throughout the school day, meeting them at the school gate, walking them back to their grown-up, and advocating for them to assist in their integration. Other duties will include:

  • Effectively tracking your pupils' progress and maintaining accurate records
  • Implementing positive behaviour strategies and integrating into new pupil groups
  • Use of PECs and visual aids to support speech and language development



What you'll need to succeed
To be considered in your application, you must have full "Right to Work" in the UK, be willing to undergo a full enhanced DBS check, and:

  • Have relevant referenceable classroom experience (a minimum of 40 days within the last 2 years is preferred)
  • Have experience supporting SEN
  • Have experience supporting speech and language development
  • Having an NVQ Level 2 Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent qualification is advantageous but not essential
