Your new company
Desian Education are proud to be supporting an Ofsted rated “Good” in all areas secondary school in Northwich. This school is a pillar of it’s local community and due to additional funding, they require a motivated and dedicated teaching assistant to join their team on a temporary basis. This is a full-time position based within an ASD (Autistic Spectrum Disorder) provision consisting of 32.5 hours per week, that will last the remainder of the academic year.
Your new role
As a teaching assistant within this school you will be joining a highly experienced SEN team. You will play an integral role in the education of pupils ASD by:
- Supporting speech and language development with Makaton, PECs and other objective references
- Tailoring approach to best suit EHCP and sensory requirements
- Using PBS such as traffic light systems, pressure therapy, etc
- Reporting into the class teacher & SENCO to discuss pupil progress and further requirements
- Attending parents evening
What you need to succeed
- Full “Right to Work” in the UK
- Referenceable experience supporting children in a classroom or residential setting
- Experience using PECs and Makaton
- Experience working with SEN (ASD and non-verbal is advantageous)
