Our client, a respected educational institution in Blackburn, Lancashire, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join their team as a Full-time Disability Support Assistant (Classroom-based). The successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing essential support to students with disabilities, ensuring they have equal access to education and opportunities to succeed.

As a Disability Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide individualised assistance to students with disabilities within the classroom setting. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating with teachers to develop and implement personalised support strategies for students with disabilities
- Providing one-on-one support to students during lessons, helping them to engage with the curriculum and overcome any barriers to learning
- Assisting students with physical, sensory, or mobility impairments to navigate the classroom environment safely and comfortably
- Facilitating communication between students, teachers, and other support staff to ensure a coordinated approach to support
- Maintaining accurate records of student progress and support provided, and communicating regularly with parents and carers
- Participating in professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date with best practices in disability support within educational settings

To be considered for this role, you should possess the following qualifications and attributes:
- A relevant qualification in education, disability support, or a related field (e.g. , Teaching Assistant Level 2 or 3, NVQ in Learning Support, or equivalent)
- Experience working with children or young people with disabilities in an educational setting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families
- A patient, empathetic, and non-judgmental approach to supporting individuals with diverse needs
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- A commitment to promoting inclusivity, equality, and diversity within the educational environment
