Summary

1:1 SEN Learning Support Assistant | Year 4 – Blackburn

Humly is recruiting a 1:1 SEN Learning Support Assistant to join a primary school on a long-term basis.

This is a full-time role starting 9 March 2026 and continuing until 17 July 2026. The position involves providing dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 4 pupil with additional needs. It would suit a patient, resilient, and proactive support professional who is confident supporting pupils with autism and attention-related needs while helping them access learning and build positive relationships in the classroom.

What You’ll Be Doing

Providing consistent 1:1 support for a Year 4 pupil with additional needs

Supporting the pupil to access classroom learning and follow structured routines

Implementing strategies to support emotional regulation and positive behaviour

Working closely with the class teacher and SENDCo to adapt activities and resources

Encouraging positive social interactions and engagement with peers

Monitoring progress and contributing to the pupil’s overall wellbeing and development

What You’ll Bring

Experience supporting pupils with SEN, particularly ASD and ADHD

Confidence in using positive behaviour management and regulation strategies

The ability to build a strong, trusting relationship with a pupil

Patience, resilience, and a calm, supportive approach

Experience working in a primary school or SEN support role

A collaborative mindset and ability to work closely with teaching staff and SEND professionals

Pay

£14.85 per hour

Working pattern: Monday to Friday, 08:50 – 15:30

Enhanced DBS required
(If required, Humly can support with an Enhanced DBS at a cost to the educator)
