P145 Maintenance Technician (219jc) – St Athan – up to £40,000 + Benefits
My client is looking for a hands-on, dependable Maintenance Technician to join a growing aviation maintenance team. This role is ideal for UK military veterans who have experience in engineering, technical maintenance, or aircraft systems, and who value precision, teamwork, and discipline.
DUE TO THE NATURE OF THIS RECRUITMENT CONSULTANCY, WE ARE ONLY ABLE TO REPRESENT INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE EX MILITARY.
If you’ve worked in a high-pressure, safety-critical environment, your skills are directly transferable to this role.
What You’ll Do
• Work as part of a maintenance team to ensure safe, compliant servicing of various aircraft
• Support senior engineers with arrival inspections, storage maintenance, and pre-part-out checks
• Read and interpret Aircraft Maintenance Manuals (AMMs) and Illustrated Parts Catalogues (IPCs) — with full training provided
• Receive training in Part 145 procedures, human factors, EWIS, and other relevant regulations
• Assist in protective engine wrapping and tooling inventory checks
• Identify and report non-conformities, damage risks, and safety hazards promptly
• Work with tools and equipment, maintaining them in good working condition
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, quality, and productivity
• Work within a culture of safety and compliance, ensuring all duties follow established guidelines
• Be prepared to train for towing aircraft and operating equipment in an airfield environment
• Work toward attaining a Part 66 A Licence, with expectations to progress toward a B Licence
What they are looking for:
• Practical experience in aircraft maintenance or engineering
• Excellent attention to detail with strong hand skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet objectives
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• High levels of personal discipline, professionalism, and a “can-do” attitude
• Physical fitness to perform hands-on work in a demanding environment
Why This Role Appeals to Veterans
This position values the discipline, technical skill, and safety focus that are second nature to military personnel. If you’ve worked in operational maintenance or engineering roles in the Forces, this is your chance to apply those skills in a civilian aviation environment — with training and a clear career path to progression.
In return they are offing a good starting salary between £37,500 to £40,000 with 25 days holiday, company pension, 3% employer and 5% employee, possible bonus scheme, depending on personal and company goals, as well as continuing personnel development within the company.
