Location: Amelia Trust Farm, Five Mile Lane, Barry, CF62 3AS
Main Purpose of Post:
• To work with a child with autism one to one.
• Work under the guidance of the setting staff.
• To develop, in partnership with other experts, programmes which support the child’s learning.
• To deliver the appropriate additional learning provision associated with that child.
• To be proactive and work effectively.
• To be able to work independently.
• To be an active and enthusiastic member of the team around the child.
Principal Responsibilities:
• To implement agreed work programmes under the direction of setting staff.
• To keep careful records of the child’s progress and share these with other professionals.
• To supervise and support a specific pupil through all activities at the setting.
• To implement all policies and practices in line with the ethos of the setting, i.e. Health and Safety policies appropriate to the activities.
• To support, where appropriate, with the implementation of aspects of the curriculum for the benefit of the child.
• To carry out effective observations which can help progress the child’s learning.
• To help create a stimulating environment which supports learning.
