Location: Whitton Rosser, Five Mile Lane, Barry, CF62 3AS
Contract Type: Temporary (Inside IR35)
Duration: 12 Weeks (likely to be extended)
Start Date: 15th September 2025 Hours: 40 per week | Monday–Friday | Full-time Pay Rate: £12.21 PAYE | £15.48 Umbrella/Ltd

About the Role
Vale of Glamorgan Council is seeking a reliable and proactive Driver/Courier to join the EHS Neighbourhood Services & Transport team. This operational support role plays a vital part in ensuring the smooth and timely delivery of essential items across council sites and community locations.

Whether transporting documents, equipment, or supplies, you’ll be a key link in keeping services running efficiently and safely. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys being on the move, takes pride in punctuality, and understands the importance of confidentiality and care in handling materials.

️ Key Responsibilities
Collect and deliver items between council departments, facilities, and external partners

Ensure accurate documentation and secure handling of all transported materials

Maintain vehicle cleanliness and report any maintenance issues promptly

Assist with basic operational support tasks when required

Represent the council professionally when interacting with staff and the public

What You’ll Bring
A full UK driving licence with a clean record

Previous experience in courier or delivery roles (desirable but not essential)

Strong time management and organisational skills

A courteous, professional manner and commitment to service delivery

Ability to work independently and follow instructions with minimal supervision

Working Environment
You’ll be based at Whitton Rosser, Barry, and operate across the Vale of Glamorgan. The role is physically active and requires a flexible, can-do attitude.
