Long Term Futures are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a secondary school in Nottingham. The school is well-regarded for its inclusive ethos and strong pastoral care, supporting around 11-16-year-olds to thrive.
This role will focus on providing 1:1 support for a Year 7 student, helping them to stay engaged in lessons and overcome challenges linked to behaviour and emotional regulation. You'll be working closely with teaching and pastoral staff to ensure the student receives consistent, tailored support.
The Role
- Provide 1:1 support for a Year 7 student who may present with challenging behaviours or dysregulation.
- Use positive behaviour management strategies to maintain focus and emotional regulation.
- Support the student in accessing learning and building resilience across a range of subjects.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, the SENDCO, and pastoral team to implement effective strategies.
- Monitor progress, share feedback and adapt approaches to meet the student's needs.
What We're Looking For
- Experience working with young people in education, youth work, or SEN/SEMH settings.
- Confidence in managing behaviour calmly and consistently.
- Strong communication skills and a patient, empathetic approach.
- Ability to build trust and positive relationships with young people.
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply).
