The role

This could be the perfect time for you to join us in our Crime Department Department as a Support Services Administrator for our Review Team.
Working as a Support Services Administrator you will provide a range of administrative and support services to effectively support the operational work and business planning of the Review Team within Crime Department.
What you’ll do
- Provide general administrative duties including word processing, scanning, minute taking, and drafting correspondence to support the Review Team and Crime Senior Management.
- Maintain and update both paper-based and digital records, input data into systems and spreadsheets, and conduct analysis to ensure accurate and timely information.
- Manage incoming and outgoing mail, operate document tracking systems, and ensure correspondence is processed efficiently.
- Order and monitor supplies (stationery, equipment, PPE, uniform), manage stock levels across departments, and ensure budget compliance.
- Conduct audits, governance checks, and maintain health & safety and first aid inspection processes.
- Process invoices, manage property records and movements, coordinate collections, and oversee RFID/Warrant/Smartcard management.
- Assist internal partners with their enquiries, undertaking general clerical and support duties as required, in order to ensure the provision of an efficient and effective service.
What you’ll bring
- A sound knowledge of internal Police systems, and the ability to learn as systems change.
- Ability to work in an office environment, independently developing skills without direct supervision.
- Ability to maintain and improve management systems, whilst liaising with key stakeholders.
- Ability to prioritise workloads in support of departmental aims, multitask effectively, expedite administrative tasks while maintaining accuracy, act with confidentiality, tact, and discretion, and demonstrate excellent organisational skills with a high level of accuracy.
- Confidence to identify and report problems or issues, maintain a professional attitude to work, and able to work both as part of a team and independently.

Terms of appointment
This is a fixed term role subject to a six-month probationary period.
If you are successful in your application, you will have a six-month probation period with us where you will be unable to apply for any other post advertised internally or externally.
