Fly Tipping Rapid Response - Facilities & Environment

Description
The Fly Tipping Rapid Response position within the Facilities & Environment department is a critical role aimed at maintaining the cleanliness and safety of our public spaces. This position involves swift and effective action in addressing instances of illegal dumping and ensuring that these areas are restored to acceptable conditions promptly. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with various stakeholders, including local communities, environmental groups, and law enforcement agencies, to identify hotspots for fly tipping and develop proactive strategies to mitigate these occurrences. Our ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to environmental stewardship and community wellbeing, as well as practical problem-solving skills. In addition, the role requires the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while prioritizing urgent situations. The Fly Tipping Rapid Response team operates with a sense of urgency and professionalism, and you will be expected to work in all weather conditions, often under time constraints to minimize the impact on the environment. Responsibilities
Respond rapidly to reports of fly tipping and coordinate clean-up efforts
Conduct site assessments to evaluate the extent of fly tipping incidents
Interact with community members to gather information and raise awareness
Work in collaboration with law enforcement and environmental agencies to investigate illegal dumping
Maintain accurate records of incidents and response actions taken
Develop and implement strategies to educate the public about responsible waste disposal
Collect data on fly tipping trends to inform policy and prevention measures
Requirements
Proven experience in environmental services or facilities management
Strong understanding of waste management regulations and practices
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Capable of handling physically demanding tasks and working in various weather conditions
Problem-solving skills and the ability to think on your feet

Pay Per Hour: £12.65
