Description
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Waste Enforcement Officer to join our Facilities & Environment team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for overseeing and enforcing waste management regulations to ensure compliance and promote sustainability within our community. You will play a critical role in developing and implementing waste reduction strategies and initiatives while educating stakeholders on best practices. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of environmental policies, waste management laws, and the importance of sustainable practices in facilities management. As a senior officer, you will lead a team of enforcement personnel, guiding them in their responsibilities and fostering a culture of accountability and excellence in waste management. You will collaborate with various departments and external agencies to address compliance issues and enhance waste management programs. Responsibilities
Lead and manage waste enforcement initiatives and programs within the organization.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal waste management regulations.
Conduct site inspections and investigations to identify violations and enforce waste management laws.
Develop, implement, and monitor waste reduction and recycling programs across facilities.
Educate staff and stakeholders on waste management best practices and regulatory requirements.
Prepare reports and documentation related to waste enforcement activities and compliance status.
Collaborate with local agencies and community organizations to promote sustainable waste management practices.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Public Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in waste management enforcement or environmental compliance.
Strong knowledge of waste management regulations and sustainability practices.
Proven leadership and team management skills with the ability to mentor junior staff.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse stakeholders.
Proficiency in conducting inspections and investigations with a detail-oriented approach.
Ability to analyze complex data and prepare clear and concise reports.
Hours Per Week: 35.00
Start Time: 08:00
End Time: 16:00
Pay Per Hour: £12.35
