We're seeking a Planning Manager to join Movar's specialist consultancy team, leading planning and scheduling activities on major infrastructure, utilities, and rail programmes across the UK and Dublin.

Founded in 2013, Movar is a specialist project delivery consultancy which helps organisations improve how projects are delivered. With over a decade of success behind them and ambitious growth ahead, they are building a team of project professionals who are curious, collaborative, and passionate about creating lasting change.

In this role, you'll take ownership of developing integrated project schedules from concept through to completion managing critical path activities, optimising resource allocation, and ensuring delivery milestones are met on time and within budget. You'll work closely with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and client representatives to bring structure, accuracy, and foresight to complex programmes.

Expect a hands-on remit, from building detailed work breakdown structures (WBS) and managing schedule baselines, to running planning workshops and producing actionable schedule performance reports. You'll also play a key role in identifying upcoming constraints, managing interfaces between project phases, and applying schedule risk analysis to inform decision-making.

This is a great opportunity to join a people-focused, growing consultancy where your voice will be heard, your ideas welcomed, and your contribution recognised. While Movar supports remote working, you'll need to travel to client sites and offices in the UK or Dublin as required.

Key Requirements: You should be a confident and experienced Planning Manager / Infrastructure Planning Manager / Planning & Scheduling Manager / Project Planning Specialist or similar with a CV that demonstrates:

5+ years experience in planning and scheduling within infrastructure, utilities, or rail
Proven track record on projects exceeding £10m in value
Expertise in critical path method, resource optimisation, and integrated master scheduling
Advanced skills in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project
Experience with schedule risk analysis and tools such as Primavera Risk Analysis or @Risk
Strong understanding of project lifecycles from design through to commissioning
Excellent stakeholder engagement and coordination skills
A relevant degree (Engineering, Construction Management, or similar) and professional qualification (APM, PMI, or equivalent)
You'll ideally be based in the UK or Dublin with flexibility to travel. Permanent and contract opportunities are available, with competitive packages:

Permanent: Up to £80,000 + pension, life insurance, and benefits // Contract: £500/day (inside IR35)

Movar offers a supportive, collaborative culture where professional growth is encouraged, and your next project is always lined up. Apply today and join a team shaping the future of project delivery.
