Summary
An inclusive and community-focused secondary school in north Liverpool is seeking a passionate and organised School Librarian to join their team from 2nd September 2025, for the full academic year.
This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in promoting a culture of reading, research, and independent learning in a school that values literacy, curiosity, and academic development.
Key Responsibilities will be:
• Manage and develop the school library as a welcoming, accessible, and resource-rich learning environment
• Support students with reading and research, including both academic and leisure-focused reading
• Work closely with teaching staff to support the curriculum through relevant resources and reading programmes
• Organise and promote reading initiatives, events, and literacy activities
• Maintain an up-to-date and well-organised library system, including cataloguing and loan management
• Supervise students using the library during and outside of lesson times
The successful Librarian will have:
• Previous experience working in a school or educational library (desirable)
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Confident using library management systems and basic IT tools
• Passionate about reading, literacy, and supporting young people
• Friendly, approachable, and able to work independently and as part of a team
