The Senior Bid Manager and Writer will operate at both strategic and operational levels, leading high-value bids and mentoring others across the bid function. They own complex proposal challenges across functions, shape commercial strategy, and create clarity in ambiguous opportunities. Trusted as a cultural and delivery leader, they model growth mindset behaviours and collaborative ways of working.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Bid Leadership: Own the strategy, development, and delivery of multi-million-pound NHS/public sector bids.
  • Opportunity Identification: Scan NHS procurement portals and frameworks to identify relevant tenders aligned to business priorities.
  • Content Creation: Write and edit tailored responses, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and alignment with the evaluation criteria.
  • Team Development: Coach and mentor Bid Leads and Coordinators; embed a culture of collaboration, clarity, and high standards.
  • Business Influence: Shape go/no-go decisions, win strategies, pricing narratives, and customer messaging with senior stakeholders.
  • Cross-Functional Alignment: Engage Sales, Legal, Product, Pricing and Execs in coordinated bid responses.
  • Quality & Governance: Lead all process reviews, oversee content QA, and ensure library compliance and knowledge management.
  • Post-Bid Reviews: Analyse outcomes, extract lessons learned and drive continuous improvement.
  • Leads 1-2 complex bids and 1-3 smaller retenders, renewals, pre market engagements or light-touch bids.
  • Deputise for the Strategic Bid Director.

  • Driving organisational change through bid feedback and market insights
  • Acting as commercial advisor during early bid qualification stages
  • Representing bids at SMT and leadership forums
