What skills and experience we're looking for

The Governing Body of Newlands Primary School are looking to recruit a Headteacher for January 2026.

We are looking for a strong and empathetic leader to nurture our dedicated and experienced staff in the next phase of our journey as we continue to build on the school’s success.

Our ideal leader will

• have a strong rapport with children and value pupil voice.
• be approachable and build strong relationships with the whole school community.
• commit to monitoring, evaluating and improving the quality of teaching and learning.
• be willing to listen to the views of others and work collaboratively whilst having conviction in their own decisions.

Selection Procedure

The shortlist will be drawn up on 12th September 2025 and the selection process will take place 29th & 30th September 2025.

Further details will be sent to those candidates called for interview. Applicants will be advised within 3 working days after the shortlisting date whether they have been successful or not.
