Are you an experienced and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding 1:1 support role this September?
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Northfield. This full-time role involves providing 1:1 support to a Year 5 pupil with Global Developmental Delay and Apert Syndrome, working closely with the class teacher to ensure tailored and inclusive learning.
About the Role:
You will be working in a mainstream Year 5 classroom supporting a child on a 1:1 basis. The student requires tailored support throughout the school day in line with their EHCP, with a particular focus on understanding and accessing the KS2 curriculum content.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 in-class support to a pupil with Global Developmental Delay and Apert Syndrome
- Deliver learning content in a personalised way suited to the child's specific learning needs
- Support the child in understanding lesson content in line with the KS2 curriculum
- Work collaboratively with the class teacher and SENCo to implement EHCP strategies
- Encourage the child's independence, engagement, and emotional well-being
- Adapt and scaffold tasks where necessary to ensure accessibility
Candidate Requirements:
- Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
- Experience supporting children with additional needs such as Global Developmental Delay
- Understanding or experience of working with Apert Syndrome is highly desirable
- Strong working knowledge of the KS2 curriculum
- A calm, patient and flexible approach to supporting individual learning
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and take initiative when required
