Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking to make a real difference in a child's school experience?

We are looking for a committed and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Yardley. In this role, you'll work on a 1:1 basis with a pupil in Year 4 who has a diagnosis of ASD and ADHD. Your role will be essential in supporting their learning, behaviour, and overall engagement in the classroom.

About the Role:

You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to support the pupil's EHCP targets and ensure they are accessing learning in a calm and positive way. You'll need to understand the signs of restlessness and know when to remove the pupil for focused sessions before reintegrating them back into the classroom. This is a rewarding and varied role for someone who has the confidence, creativity and patience to make a difference.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 support to a Year 4 pupil with ASD and ADHD
- Assist in managing behaviour and promoting positive routines
- Help the pupil engage in whole-class learning activities
- Deliver focused interventions outside of the classroom when needed
- Work collaboratively with the class teacher and SENCO to monitor progress
- Support the implementation of EHCP targets

Candidate Requirements:
- Relevant Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
- Previous experience supporting pupils with SEN, particularly ASD and ADHD
- Experience working within Key Stage 2 settings
- Strong behaviour management and communication skills
- Ability to build positive and supportive relationships with pupils
