Are you a passionate and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding new opportunity this September?
We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and nurturing team within a well-resourced SEN provision in a primary school in Wylde Green, Birmingham. This role offers the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children aged 4 to 12 years with a range of high and complex special educational needs (SEN).
The Role:
- Supporting students with ASD, ADHD, speech and language needs, and challenging behaviours.
- Working closely with a class teacher and a team of Teaching Assistants in the school's dedicated SEN provision.
- Delivering 1:1 and small group support tailored to individual learning needs.
- Assisting in modifying and adapting learning content to suit varying abilities, under teacher guidance.
- Supporting students with their social, emotional, and educational development.
- Helping maintain a calm, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
Requirements:
- A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is essential.
- Previous experience working with children with complex SEN needs in a school setting.
- Confidence in supporting students across Key Stage 1 and/or Key Stage 2.
- A good understanding of the primary curriculum.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- A compassionate, patient, and proactive approach to support.
