Location: Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham (B72)
Start Date: September 2025
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
Pay: £455 - £480 per week
Contract: Full-time, Term Time Only
Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking to make a meaningful impact in a supportive and dynamic school environment?
We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a thriving school in Sutton Coldfield (B72), working within the school's Special Educational Needs (SEN) provision. This is a full-time role starting in September, supporting students across all year groups who present with a range of high needs including Autism, ADHD, complex learning difficulties, and challenging behaviour.
The Role:
- Working closely with students on a 1:1 and small group basis within the SEN provision.
- Supporting individualised learning plans tailored to each student's needs.
- Assisting in lessons following the KS1 or KS2 curriculum, depending on student needs.
- Managing and de-escalating challenging behaviours with a calm and professional approach.
- Collaborating with the SENCO and class teachers to ensure students are progressing and supported effectively
Requirements:
- Minimum of 1 year's experience working in a classroom setting (essential)
- Experience supporting pupils with complex SEN needs and challenging behaviour
- Comfortable providing personal care if needed
- Knowledge and familiarity with the KS1 and/or KS2 curriculum
- A relevant Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant or SEN qualification
- A nurturing, resilient, and proactive approach to supporting young learners
