Primary SEN Teacher - SEMH School | Tooting, Southwest London
Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated Primary SEN Teacher to join a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school in Tooting, Southwest London. This is a full-time role delivering a range of core subjects to small groups of primary-aged pupils with additional needs.
- Role: Primary SEN Teacher (must be confident teaching across KS1 and KS2)
- Start Date: September 2025 (Immediate trials/interviews available)
- Contract Type: Long-term with the potential to become permanent
- Working Hours: 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM
- Location: Tooting, Southwest London
- Pay: Paid according to your teaching scale
- Parking: On-site parking available
This is a nurturing and inclusive SEMH school for boys aged 5-19, supporting pupils with complex social, emotional, and mental health needs. The school offers a highly structured and therapeutic learning environment, with personalised learning plans that meet each child's individual needs.
- A qualified primary teacher with experience across KS1 and KS2
- Ability to adapt teaching to meet the needs of SEN learners
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
- A trauma-informed, empathetic, and flexible teaching approach
- QTS (or an equivalent UK teaching qualification)
- Experience working in SEN, SEMH, PRUs, or alternative provisions
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (Child & Adult Workforce)
- Two recent and relevant professional references
- Primary teachers with a passion for inclusive education
- Educators looking to transition into a specialist SEN setting
- SEN and mainstream teachers experienced in behaviour management and emotional support
