Primary Teacher - Small Group (Year 1 ASD)
Location: Hammersmith and Fulham (commutable from Hounslow, Ealing, Acton, Chiswick, Brentford, and Richmond)
Daily Pay: £180-£240 - Paid to Inner London Teacher Scale
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Full-time, Long Term to Permanent
Long Term Futures are working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in West London that prides itself on its nurturing environment and high staff-to-pupil ratio. This fantastic opportunity is for a Primary Teacher to work with a small class of four pupils in Year 1, all of whom have a diagnosis of ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) and Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). The school's small cohort means you can make a truly meaningful impact on each child's learning and personal development.
About the Role
This position will suit a dedicated and patient Primary Teacher who is passionate about working with children with additional needs. Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering engaging lessons tailored to individual EHCP targets
- Providing small group instruction that supports communication, social interaction, and core skills
- Implementing effective behaviour management strategies to support positive behaviour
- Working collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, SEN professionals, and families
- Regularly monitoring and reporting on pupil progress
This role is ideal for an ECT eager to gain specialist experience or an experienced teacher looking for a rewarding, pupil-focused role.
What We're Looking For
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience or passion for working with children with ASD or complex needs
- Ability to differentiate teaching to meet individual needs
- Strong lesson planning and organisational skills
- Positive, calm, and flexible approach
