What skills and experience we're looking for
Stirchley Primary School is looking to appoint a suitably qualified, hardworking, enthusiastic teaching assistant to work in our friendly and welcoming school. The position requires supporting our breakfast club in the morning to start at 7.30am and it includes lunchtime duties as well as classroom cover until 2.30pm.
The successful candidates should be prepared to work throughout all three Key Stages if the need arises, Foundation, KS1 & KS2.
You should have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with children, staff, and parents. Applicants should be qualified to NVQ Level 2 or equivalent and have a good standard of education. Staff will be expected to work their hours on INSET days and holidays are not allowed during term time.
This post is covered by Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) and therefore the ability to speak fluent and spoken English is an essential requirement for this role.
What the school offers its staff
Supportive, close-knit team – We work collaboratively, share ideas openly, and always have each other’s backs.
Genuine work-life balance – We value wellbeing and plan with purpose, not paperwork.
Strong relationships with families – Our parents and carers are involved, respectful, and deeply invested in their children.
Real opportunity to make a difference – In a small school, your impact is visible, valued, and celebrated.
Wonderful children who love to learn – Our pupils are kind, curious, and exceptionally well-behaved – as noted in our recent Ofsted report.
A place where you’re known, not just employed – We see the person, not just the position.
Commitment to safeguarding
Stirchley Primary is committed to the safeguarding of all its pupils. All staff have to undertake an enhanced DBS check.
