Summary
Main responsibilities will include:
Assist in the management of day to day running of the store
Issuing and receipting equipment to personnel
Ensures that the items are stacked safely and correctly
Maintaining documentation for store accounting and auditing
Adheres to MoD Health & Safety policy
Assists in the delivery of stores
Operates a pedestrian operated palletizer/forklift
Assist in maintaining the hygiene and cleanliness of the department
Operate efficiently, the Management of the Joint Deployed Inventory (MJDI) managed accounts, including Demands, Issues and Receipt of materiel accurately and efficiently, in accordance with in-Service
A storekeeper role requires a degree of physical ability as you will be expected to lift and carry furniture, boxes of rations and equipment round the store (also load/offload vehicles), and place retrieve items and boxes from shelving that may be above head height. In accordance with HSE guidance, the recommended maximum manual handling weight that applicants can expect to lift is men (25kg) and women (16kg).
