This role is part of the Regimental Headquarters (RHQ) The RIFLES, with a primary focus on Officer Recruitment and Mentoring. You will be working as part of a friendly, professional team in a busy but rewarding environment. You will be part of a forward leaning, dynamic and output driven team who are all committed to supporting and promoting the ‘The RIFLES’ family. The wellbeing of our veterans is an important facet of our work, and effective communications and enabling comradeship is essential to achieve this output. As well a supporting those that have served, you will be key to ensuring our future Officers feel connected to their Regiment by supporting and coordinating activities in relation to their progression through officer selection and the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst.
Your main responsibilities will include:
Officer Selection and Mentoring
To attract, nurture and support the selection of direct entry young officers for the Regiment
To liaise with Recruiting Group, University Officer Training Corps, The Royal Military Academy Sandhurst and RIFLES affiliated Army Cadet Force detachments to support and promote recruitment opportunities
Engagement
A key part of your role will be to engage and connect with the local community. Sustaining relationships with our supportive stakeholder groups, and building new relationships, to promote the RIFLES, and the wider Army, across the wider UK
Collaborate and engage with internal and external stakeholders to promote and enhance the RIFLES, as well as the wider Rifles community
Develop media interest through collaboration with county councils, Army Media & Comms and the RHQ Engagement Team
Encourage the promotion of the Army in Society throughout the UK, giving particular attention and support to public events and initiatives
Business Management
Responsible for a wide range of Regimental matters
Support and collaborate within the small team to ensure essential tasks are covered during periods of absence. This may include the opportunity to deputise for the Business Manager
Respond to enquiries from members of the public in relation to the current, forming, and antecedent Regiments
Due to the nature of this role and the geographical spread of the regiment across the UK, this role will involve travel. Therefore, the successful candidate may find that a full licence would be advantageous in this job. This role may also require you to attend the occasional activity in the evening or during a weekend. In the event that you are required to work outside normal working hours you will be compensated for doing so.
Remote working within this role is something that can be discussed at interview stages or with your future line manager if you are found successful.
