As a CLPD/CAFCASS Officer for Humberside Police, the post holder will consider information in relation to individuals who are brought to police attention who are an employee or a volunteer in roles that involve unsupervised access to the vulnerable or may pose a risk to society.

You will deal with requests for Common Law Police Disclosures and from the Children and Family Court Advisory Support Services, and consider and release relevant information.

This post is ideal for an individual who is self-motivated and who can make decisions with minimum supervision, but also understands when to refer matters to supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensures that there are adequate legal grounds to justify the disclosure of personal data from police computer systems on behalf of the force for each request ensuring safeguarding of vulnerable individuals or risk to society as a whole.
Demonstrates initiative in relation to the ‘relevance’ of information in relation to Common Law Police Disclosure and the Children and Family Court Advisory Service.
Undertakes searches of force and national systems in order to identify relevant information for consideration of disclosure in compliance with Part V of the Police Act 1997, the Disclosure and Barring Service Quality Assurance Framework (QAF) and the Disclosure Protocol between ACPO and the Children and Family Court Advisory Service 2010.
Advises the force on disclosure matters in relation to CLPD and CAFCASS. Acts as subject matter expert, forming strong working relationships, whilst sharing knowledge and guidance.
Ensure any data quality issues found on force systems are addressed to ensure accuracy of information with advice and guidance given.
Identifies to the Disclosure Manager appropriate information to put forward to a Chief Officer or Chief Officer Delegate for disclosure.

What the role requires:

A good understanding of Disclosure in compliance with Part V of the Police Act 1997, the Disclosure and Barring Service Quality Assurance Framework (QAF) and the Disclosure Protocol between ACPO and the Children and Family Court Advisory Service 2010.
Experience of working in a confidential environment.
Experience of undertaking research/project work.
Proven experience in releasing information in accordance with respective legislation.
Effective time management skills.
Ability to collate, analyse and evaluate large volumes of information.
The ability to use initiative and judgement in the interpretation of issues, requests, etc, with an understanding of when to refer matters to supervising officers.
Flexibility to meet the demands of the post.
Ability to seek out information from non-obvious sources.

Pre – Employment Checks and Eligibility:
