Summary


We are looking to recruit a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our friendly team and complete our exceptional training programme.

The successful candidate will complete the Level 2 Pharmacy Services Assistant course. The Pharmacy Services Assistant apprenticeship is a great opportunity for learners who want to develop their skills and knowledge supporting the supply, preparation and assembly of medicines and products: issuing them to patients, and other healthcare professionals and assisting in providing advice to patients to help them to make effective use of their medicines.

Course entry criteria (Apprenticeship funding rules apply):
• Minimum of Grade C/4 in GCSE Maths, English language, and Science*

(Please note that if not UK qualifications, then individual must prove equivalence via ENIC)

*If you do not possess the above, you must be willing to complete functional skills in English and Mathematics alongside the apprenticeship.

*PLEASE NOTE that English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) is not an equivalent to GCSE English Grade C/Level 4 or above and does not meet the entry requirements.
• Applicants must be aged 16 years old or above.
• Learners must live and work in England and have been a resident in the EU for a minimum of 3 years
• Learners cannot hold a Level 3 qualification or above, unless the qualification is "materially different" from the Apprenticeship in Pharmacy framework. Any qualifications relating to level 3 and above in pharmacy, nursing or biomedical sciences will have to be assessed in depth for funding eligibility

In order tomeet the needs of the new Partnership services you may berequiredfrom time to time to work atdifferent locationsto your normal place of work. This may mean that youare required towork at any location that fall underBarnet,Enfield and Harringay Trust and Camden and Islington Trust. The Trust reserves the right to require staff to work at such other places or locations as it considers reasonable and necessary on a temporary or permanent basis.








Dispensary:
• To attend to patients, carers and hospital staff at the Pharmacy reception, receiving medication charts and handing out medications.
• To deal with incoming and outgoing communications to the department and its staff in an appropriate and accurate manner.
• To dispense, under supervision and in preparation for a final accuracy check, medicines from prescriptions and ward requisitions in accordance with local procedures.
• To maintain high quality of data input of patient information into the Pharmacy computer system to ensure high labelling standards for dispensed medicines.

Communication:
• To communicate with staff in clinical areas regarding patients and medicines supply.
• To ensure information is provided in a timely manner, to the appropriate individual and in accordance with the degree of urgency of the request or issue identified.

Procurement and Distribution:
• To be responsible for processing all stock delivery to Pharmacy; unpacking, checking, recording, rotating and shelving.
• To inform all other Pharmacy staff of out-of-stock items and to follow up deliveries and subsequent distribution.
• To undertake stock top-up of medicines on wards and departments.
