About the role:
As a Manufacturing Apprentice, you'll be at the forefront of creating cutting-edge components. With exposure to a breadth of manufacturing processes including welding, vacuum brazing, and more, you'll delve into the exciting world of manufacturing and engineering, gaining invaluable experience in a variety of essential tasks.
Please note: This opportunity is available across Parker Meggitt’s Coventry (CV6 4AA) and Ansty (CV7 9JU) facilities, therefore it is recommended that you live within a commutable distance as your application will be considered for both locations.
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
Manual Machining
Assembly of intricate mechanical and electromechanical parts and components
Calibrating machinery and perform test routines to ensure they are in working order
A breadth of manufacturing processes such as welding, vacuum brazing, swaging, potting and many more
Maintaining Business Information Systems with content where appropriate
Working in line with company procedures for health and safety
Learning engineering principles such as lean manufacturing
Training
About the apprenticeship…
Alongside your day role, you will work to complete Level 3 Engineering Technician Apprenticeship with a specified external training provider. This will give you the knowledge, training and external approval to do your job effectively. This apprenticeship duration is approximately 4 years in duration.
Qualifications required
In order to apply you must have...
Minimum 5 GCSE’s at Grade 9 to 4 (A* to C) including English and Maths
The right to work in the UK
Been a UK/EU/EAA resident for the past three years or more prior to starting the course
Left full time education when the apprenticeship you are applying for is due to start
The right to work in the UK is preferable but not essential
Skills required
To succeed in this role you need to…
Have strong written communication and verbal communication skills
Have strong prioritisation skills with a sense of urgency
Be able to recognise and solve problems
Be well-organised, detail-oriented, and ability to multi-task
Be able to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures
Have strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and web-browsers
Prospects
What does the future look like?
After completing the programme, performance pending, you may successfully transition into a permanent position with the team/business you have worked in as an apprentice.
