You've finished your degree… but maybe you're still deciding on your next move.
Or perhaps you've thought about working in education - but didn't know where to begin?
This could be the perfect starting point.
We're working with a number of welcoming, well-regarded secondary schools across Alton and the surrounding areas, and we're looking for confident, reliable graduates to step into Graduate Cover Supervisor roles.
No classroom experience? That's absolutely fine.
If you can communicate clearly, stay calm under pressure, and lead a group with confidence - we'll support you with everything else. From training to in-school shadowing, we'll help you feel ready from day one.
As a Graduate Cover Supervisor, you'll play an important role in keeping lessons on track when teachers are absent. You'll:
- Deliver pre-set lesson plans
- Keep students engaged, focused, and on task
- Manage behaviour in a calm and consistent way
- Follow the school's routines and expectations
- Provide feedback to teaching staff
If you're considering a career in teaching, this is one of the best ways to experience the classroom before committing.
You'll build confidence, gain hands-on experience, and develop a real understanding of how schools operate day-to-day.
And if you decide to take things further?
We can introduce you to local teacher training routes, including salaried pathways to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
We'd love to hear from graduates across a wide range of subjects, including:
- English
- Maths
- Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics)
- Humanities (History, Geography, Religious Education)
- Sports & PE
- Psychology or related subjects
You don't need to be a specialist teacher - just someone who can communicate well, think on their feet, and build positive relationships with students.
- Flexible work to suit you (part-time or full-time)
- Opportunities in local Alton schools
- Weekly pay from £120-£130 per day (PAYE)
- Free training (behaviour management, SEN, safeguarding)
- School experience and shadow days before you start
- A supportive, people-first approach built on fairness, transparency, and support
At Quokka Education, safeguarding comes first.
All applicants will be vetted in line with Department for Education guidance, including an online search as part of the process. We'll guide you through every step so you know exactly what to expect.
Apply today or get in touch for an informal chat - we're always happy to help.
Know someone who'd be a great fit?
We offer up to £150 for successful referrals.
