Crynodeb

We are a Hindu Temple registered as a Charity by the Charity Commission. We have been open since 2004 and have a strong devotee base attending the Temple on a regular basis.

The candidate will be paid an annual salary of £26,436.80 for 40 hours of work per week (5-6 days per week). We comply with the National Minimum Wage regulations and we also provide holiday pay and other benefits the candidates will be entitled to under the UK laws.

We are looking to employ 2 Religious Workers (non pastrol role) to support our existing team of senior priests and the management. The Religious Workers must undertake specific duties in support of the senior priests (Ministers of Religion) and the religious activities related to our Hindu method of worship.

The successful individuals will have in-depth knowledge and expertise of Hindu religious ceremonies and Madapalli work (preparation of sacred food). They will have a well-established background and proven experience in undertaking the duties listed below.

(1) Setup Abishekham, Homum and Pooja / preparation for daily and special ceremonies
(2) Alangaram and decoration to all Deities
(3) Madapalli work (preparation of sacred food)
(4) Assist Temple Priests with religious ceremonies, festivals and daily activities
(5) Garland making.
(6) Other associated duties as directed.

Prerequisites:

Ability to chant mantras to bless sacred food
Minimum 3 years experience working at a Hindu Temple
Must have strong communication skills and be able to converse in Tamil

Required:
Must be a practising Hindu and must speak Tamil
