Are you an experienced Nurse looking to change direction or develop and grow within your career?

An exciting opportunity has arisen for you to join the Medical Acute Dependency Unit (MADU) nursing team within the Medicine Directorate at Wexham Park Hospital.

MADU is a 16‑bedded unit with facilities for full cardiac monitoring and non‑invasive ventilation. We provide level 1 and level 2 care to patients with a wide variety of acute medical conditions, including GI bleeds, DKA, type 1 and type 2 respiratory failure requiring NIV, severe electrolyte imbalance, and monitoring of central and arterial lines.

In addition, we care for patients requiring tracheostomy management and those needing advanced respiratory support such as Optiflow therapy, giving staff the opportunity to develop skills in complex airway and respiratory care.

We welcome applications from experienced nurses as well as newly qualified nurses nearing the end of their training. All staff receive a comprehensive induction, ongoing support, and access to the training they need to succeed.

We strongly promote staff development with the support of our Practice Development Nurse, and you will have the opportunity to enhance your skills through the nationally recognised Skills Competency Framework.

Provide high‑quality nursing care to patients with a wide range of acute and complex medical conditions.

Coordinate patient care effectively across the multidisciplinary team, ensuring clear communication and continuity of care.

Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualised care plans with minimal supervision, maintaining high clinical standards at all times.

Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure that all treatments, procedures, and interventions are delivered safely and in line with Trust policies and established clinical guidelines.

Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust is committed to being an inclusive and disability confident employer and has been awarded the Gold for the Armed Forces Employment Recognition Scheme. We provide first class development opportunities for all staff and have a wide range of professional, management and leadership, and clinical skills training available.

Here at Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust, we know how important it is to have a healthy work life balance; this benefits not only individuals but the patients we care for too.

We encourage applications from people who wish to work on a flexible basis, recognising that flexibility may mean a range of different working patterns and hours, we do our utmost to work with our staff to meet their needs and the needs of our service and its users.
