Summary


Come and join our amazing Ward 5 team as a Healthcare Support Worker!

Ward 5 is a 36-bedded Endocrine and Medical ward serving a 24 hour nursing care to all our patients.

We have a brilliant and friendly team of nurses, carers, consultants, resident doctors, housekeepers, clerk and host/hostess.

We are well supported by our multi-disciplinary team consisting of our dedicated discharge coordinator, hard-working physiotherapists and occupational therapists, dedicated dietician and speech & language therapist, who will work with you, your patients and your patient's family or carers.

We also work hand in hand with the diabetes nursing team, Tissue viability specialist nursing team, amputee rehabilitation team, vascular team and the foot care team.

As a Health Care Support Worker you will work under direct or indirect supervision of a Registered Nurse/Nursing Associate.

The care you give to patients will be compassionate, caring, and high quality.

You will recognise your abilities and limitations of your competence and only carry out those tasks for which you are trained.

As a member of the ward team you will support the other staff, act in the best interest of patients and treat everyone with respect.

As a Trust employee you will honour your work commitments, be reliable, trustworthy and uphold the values and beliefs of the Trust and the Skills for Health Code of Conduct.

Some of the main tasks include:
• Provide excellent customer care skills to ensure patients come first.
• Act on own initiative when delivering the personal care requirements. Seeking guidance of a Healthcare Assistant or Registrant where required to ensure that the patient’s health, safety, wellbeing, and dignity are always maintained when personal care is being delivered.
• To act as an advocate for patients within the department/ward/unit.
• To follow FHFT guidelines, policies, and procedures in maintaining safe working practices for patients and colleagues
